Conservation Assistant Supervisor, Science Museum (Science Museum Group)


Do you have practical and relevant experience of collections care, object cleaning and handling? Do you take pride in delivering work to a high standard and have demonstrable experience leading a team?

Our Collections and Services team are looking for a Conservation Assistant Supervisor. You’ll be tasked with conservation cleaning of objects and exhibition furniture on display in our galleries. You’ll be working as part of a team and manage three Conservation Assistants to assist the Conservation and Collection care team with the care, movement, packing, storage, and access of the Museum’s collections.

In addition, you will also support with the install and associated decants of existing exhibitions.
It is essential applicants have experience handling and moving objects, including cleaning those that are delicate and historic. You’ll need excellent communication skills, experience leading a team, and be able to use risk assessments and method statements to plan and complete work.
