Are you passionate about the latest technology and the Internet? Do you have a flair for graphics and media, and want to learn a bit or everything?
This creative program in Mixed Media enables you to have an equal amount of training and working within film & video, social networking/marketing, web design and graphic design.
During your media placement you will:
*Learn how to design, build and manage websites from scratch using Dreamweaver.
*Receive training in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, HTML, CSS and how to use a Mac.
*Learn how to use Facebook, Twitter and blogs for online marketing.
*Learn how to script, shoot and edit short videos.
*Learn graphic design techniques for the likes of flyers, brochures and posters.
*Learn professional etiquette when with clients in meetings, by email and on the phone.
*Work towards a Level 2 qualification in IT telecoms, software and web
Alongside this training, you will be part of a digital media team who will work on a range of design and communication briefs for clients. You will manage websites and social media platforms, shoot promotional films and design graphic marketing material.
Your team will work alongside professional tutors and teams but still be given plenty of responsibility. This is not an opportunity to be missed for the creative digital artist, looking for their break into the industry. The mixed media program will allow you to experiment with your designs commercially and build up a portfolio, whilst gaining valuable experience working to deadlines with clients.
Ideal candidate
*Will have a keen interest in digital media and design
*Motivated and a team worker
*MUST be aged 16-18
*MUST have lived in the UK 3 years or be an EU/UK citizen.
*Must not be in FULL time education
Start dates: 26/03/12, 16/04/12, 07/05/12, 18/06/12, 09/07/12
