Part time Gallery Assistant in Chiswick W4, Joanna Bird Contemporary Collections

Applications are invited for an Assistant to work for 1-2 days, in London W4. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical and presentation skills, along with a conscientious, sensitive approach to clients and working within a small team.  

This is a paid position, remuneration dependant on qualifications and suitability. The applicant should be responsible, reliable, and able to work on their own initiative. This position would suit someone who is driven, level headed and interested in the running of a busy gallery.

Skills required:

  • Excellent IT skills, Adobe Photoshop, Excel,Wordpress, ability to update social media and the website
  • Copywriting experience useful, a high degree of literacy is important for planning exhibition catalogues and advertising
  • Capable of writing press releases, letters and project updates
  • A good work ethic and a methodical approach
  • Able to work independently
  • Good sense of layout and design, graphic design and creative ideas would be a bonus
  • Personable telephone manner

The job also entails:

  • General office work, filing, data entry, packing, collecting and delivering ceramics, glass and works of art
  • Physical strength is an asset, also a current driving licence, but persistence, a light touch and sense of humour would be equally essential. The successful applicant will be responsible for specific sections of work and will be expected to deliver them on time and to deadlines
