Base: The John Osborne Arvon Centre, The Hurst, Clunton, Craven Arms, Shropshire
Pay rate: £10.61 per hour gross of tax and other statutory deductions. Holiday allowance is paid in addition at the rate of 12% of hours worked.
Hours: This is a zero hours contract, and hours are as required, variable, and not guaranteed. You are not obliged to accept work on every occasion we offer it to you.

National creative writing charity Arvon is looking for Relief Staff to cover the Assistant Centre Directors and Centre Assistant at its Shropshire writers’ centre, The Hurst. The role will be to assist with hosting courses and on occasion to host courses. This will involve cooking simple lunches for up to 25 people, supervising and supporting teams of writers preparing dinner and washing up, formally introducing and facilitating Tuesday and Wednesday night evening readings and discussions, and overseeing the departure of writers and tutors on Saturday mornings. The role also includes looking after writers at The Clockhouse retreat.
