Production details:
Olivier Award-winning OperaUpClose premier their new English version of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda at Tudor and Elizabethan National Trust properties this autumn. Performances will be in concert style, without set or costume. However, we will be looking to source some lighting, so the ideal candidate will have experience working with mobile lighting systems at similar events.

We have a cast of six singers. More information can be found here:

There will be six indoor performances and one outdoor (partially covered), in non-performance spaces. Experience of staging opera or theatre in similar conditions is essential. As the production manager, you will need to deliver the appropriate paperwork (i.e. risk assessments, schedules, event licenses etc) and make sure all paperwork falls in line with the venues’ and OperaUpClose’s policies.

It would be helpful if the candidate had a car (or driving license) for performances.

Future life
OperaUpClose are in the process of confirming details for the staged production in 2019. Provisionally there will be a 4-week rehearsal period, starting 9 April 2019, with performances in London taking place over a 4-week period starting w/c 7 May 2019.
OperaUpClose would be keen to continue working with the Stage Manager in 2019, however this will be confirmed and contracted separately from the concert tour.

Interviews will take place in London on Monday 25 June. Please send a brief paragraph and CV to Amy at
