Description

FREELANCE OPPORTUNITY

Theatre Designer or Artist/Maker - Installation in Plymouth gallery

Effervescent, a social impact design lab, is working in partnership with seven young curators/producers from Plymouth on an interactive gallery installation at Radiant Gallery for April 2019

The working themes of the installation are mental health and mental health services for young people. A conceptual devising process has been completed - now the group needs artists with whom they can collaborate in order to bring their idea to fruition. The central elements of the installation will be an arial/wire dance performer, lights, projected text, and sound/music.

We have a choreographer, lighting designer and composer/sound artist so now Effervescent seeks an experienced theatre designer/maker to complete the team. Our house style is magical realist with very strong visual and metaphorical elements.

You must be comfortable working in collaborative partnership with young people, and therefore hold appropriate insurance and a DBS check.

Funding is in place but the budget will be finalised as more details emerge.

To express your interest. Please send a CV, cover letter, and images of previous work, to Phil Innes, Creative Producer: phil@eff.co.uk Please use the title HOLD2 DESIGNER in the title as email will be sorted automatically. If you have questions, you can call Phil on 0777333714

This is a short notice appointment. The deadline for applications is midnight, 18th March 2018. Selection meeting via Skype is possible.

Effervescent’s HOLD programme is a partnership with Exeter University. Funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Arts Council England, and National Lottery.
