University Heritage Collections Manager, The University of Sheffield

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity in the University Library for someone with a passion for heritage collections looking to use their skills in a hands on role. You will support the area of cultural heritage management; building and strengthening engagement with heritage collections whilst maintaining collection standards and mitigating risk.

Educated to a postgraduate level in a discipline relevant to the GLAM sector or with significant relevant professional experience, you will have contemporary experience in a research environment, and a knowledge of digital technologies. You will be experienced in day to day management and maintenance of collections such as fine art and sculptures. As you will be responsible for developing engaging exhibitions, experience of delivering thoughtfully curated and inspiring exhibitions would be an advantage.

You will take a lead in developing operational plans that formalise the heritage processes and procedures. You will maintain and grow beneficial relationships with external partners such as funding and support agencies, loan artefacts, work on joint projects and implement strategies to allow optimal engagement with collections.

If you are passionate about Heritage Collections, then we would love to hear from you.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
