We, at Folk Log are a team of of filmmakers, writers, performers and researchers who are deeply invested in the survival and promotion of folk arts in India.

In the early months of the lockdown in India, we brought together celebrities, storytellers and folk performers for 3 online festivals that had the exact effect we had intended—hours of entertainment, joy and hope, and smiles on the faces of nearly half a million socially isolated people!

We are planning to extend the same reach internationally, to the UK, through the Folkconnect Fellowship!

The FolkConnect Fellowship, a vision jointly conceptualized by Project Folk Log and British Council India, aims to bring together contemporary and traditional artists from the UK and India and give them the chance to learn from each other, combine their skills and sensibilities, and develop a unique work of art that crosses forms, borders and time periods.

We would like to call upon UK artists and musicians who are looking for such collaboration, to please apply to this unique opportunity. It is a  4-month, paid virtual residency, partnering with Indian folk artists!
