Each week, we will create a playful and safe space for experimentation and exploration. Every class will start with solo time to awaken awareness of our inner and outer space, followed by opportunities to move together in duets and groups. We will ground these explorations in specific Contact Improvisation exercises and skills. Practicing falling, rolling, floating, lifting and supporting, using gravity to move effortlessly.

We will approach themes such as support, structures and lifts, centre and extremities, trust, multiplicity of touch, shared weight and shared balance, upside down, head to tail connection, material for the spine exercises, following and leading, dynamics, and momentum.

This class is designed to support students’ growth over the 10 weeks, you will deepen your knowledge of how to share weight and communicate through dance. We also welcome those who drop-in for one session, from beginners to experienced movers.

Some classes will be accompanied by live music.

Please wear comfortable clothes.

For questions about our classes, please email education@chisenhaledancespace.co.uk or call 020 8981 6617 between 10am and 6pm.
