Achates Philanthropy is pleased to announce the appointment of Kane Moore to the newly created post of Director of Development. He took up the post in October 2019.

Kane brings to Achates Philanthropy a decade’s experience fundraising for arts, health and beyond-profit sectors. Kane served as Head of Development at Battersea Arts Centre, where he completed, over-target and to schedule, the £13 million capital campaign to restore their historic town hall venue, whilst also securing major grant and statutory funding to extend two of the organisation’s most impactful engagement projects, The Agency and Collaborative Touring Network. Kane has also fundraised for Shakespeare’s Globe and Anne Frank Trust UK, and most recently directed the £24 million campaign for medical research charity The Scar Free Foundation.

Kane’s other activities include being the Chair of the Institute of Fundraising’s annual Cultural Sector Network Conference, and a founding Trustee of new arts venue Streatham Space Project.

As Director of Development Kane will work alongside Founder and Director Caroline McCormick and Executive Director Cerian Eiles to develop and deliver innovative high impact fundraising consultancy to cultural organisations across the UK and Europe.

Discussing his announcement Caroline said, ‘I am delighted that Kane has joined the Achates team. Kane is a very talented and high performing fundraiser whose experience of working beyond the arts sector provides a unique perspective that will be valuable to the arts and heritage organisations we work with.’

About Achates Philanthropy

At Achates we love art, care about strong relationships with audiences, and know that good governance is essential. Our holistic approach brings these key elements together to optimise income generation. We work for and with the cultural sector to enable resilience with integrity. We start with the art and, by focusing on audiences and income generation, we create innovative models informed by each organisation's distinctiveness.

In Virgil's Aeneid, Achates was the close friend and loyal advisor of Trojan leader, Aeneas. We thought this described the exact relationship we offer our clients.
