Description

Lost Properties

This exhibition will be curated by Object Art.

Our vision for the exhibition does not just lie in the physical properties of the object. We would welcome proposals that embrace our interaction with objects and material culture. We would aim to include works in a variety of media embracing performance, film, 2D and 3D works as submitted. We would welcome submissions that encourage and entice people to ask questions of the familiar. Work that invites people to look beneath the surface of their everyday life to discover new worlds, ideas and possibilities, or question the currently accepted.

Submissions

It is free to submit proposals, if you are selected then there will be a £10 administration charge per artist payable to Fringe Arts Bath, a not for profit organisation.

Email up to 3 images, as jpegs, of works completed or examples of previous works. Submit as Word or PDF files, 50-250 words explaining your work and how it relates to the theme. Proposals for work not yet completed will be considered as well as finished pieces.

Email to Object Art at   fringeartsbath-lostproperties@yahoo.com

Deadline for submissions 17th February 2012

Unpaid opportunities

We recognise that there is great value in people having access to proper work experience, where it is offered and arranged properly and is a mutually beneficial arrangement, but that this should never be used as a way of attempting to circumvent national minimum wage regulations. Please ensure that your posts are compliant with our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to remove any posts without further notice to you which, in our reasonable judgment, do not comply with the terms and conditions.

Internships in the arts

Arts Council and Creative & Cultural Skills have published these guidelines to help clarify the legal obligations of arts organisations offering internships.

Please note that we will not accept postings on Arts Jobs for unpaid internships unless they are part of a recognised further or higher education course.
