Giselle presented by English Youth Ballet, Cliffs Pavilion

English Youth Ballet presents an appealing and dramatic production of Giselle set on an English country estate with an 'upstairs downstairs flavour'. Giselle is a Governess, a young girl who is betrayed by the Prince Albert who unbeknown to her is also engaged to Lady Bathilde. This leads to a macabre, ghoulish scene dominated by Wilis who are young women jilted in love and who rise from their graves at night and take revenge on any man who crosses their path. With enchantingly sumptuous costumes, pretty scenery and spectacular dancing this production cleverly updates Giselle with its drama, colour and warmth.

Now entering its twenty first year, English Youth Ballet has gained in popularity and has an established formidable reputation for classic and dramatic productions of the famous full length classical ballets. With professional dancers, taking the leading roles, the company gives young dancers throughout the UK a wonderful performance opportunity to dance alongside the principals in solo and corps de ballet roles. EYB brings its beautiful production of Giselle to the Cliffs Pavilion Southend.
