IntraCultural Masterclass with Kristine Landon-Smith, KLS Associates

Description

IntraCultural Masterclass with Kristine Landon-Smith: March 2018

Kristine Landon-Smith (MPhil), Tamasha’s former Artistic Director and expert on intracultural theatre practice, leads a masterclass for actors seeking to enhance their art form.

What to Expect:

Over the 9 days Kristine will lead you through an in-depth study of Intracultural Practice.  Intracultural practice is just that- a practice so if you have attended one of Kristine’s masterclasses before this class is perfect for you as there is more to discover and more to embed into your own process. If you haven’t attended one of Kristine’s Masterclasses before this masterclass is also perfect for you as over the 9 days you can really begin to explore the techniques and start to shape and hone what it means for you as an individual actor. Over the sessions you will be lead through:

  • Games exploring Complicite
  • Improvisation
  • Multi-linguistic and multi-vernacular improvisations
  • Using Improvisation to transition into text both contemporary and classical
  • Monologue Study
  • Applying Intracultural practice to scene and duologue work
  • Individual reflection and feedback

Kristine focuses on play: how to help the actor play well at all times: in games, improvisation and text. Kristine’s particular practice helps each actor understand what is unique to them and how to work in order to bring their own self to the stage in any role. Participants will explore Kristine’s unique actor-centred model and apply it to classic and contemporary texts.
