Last chance to apply for our Working in Community Arts Course, Mary Ward Centre

Community Arts? Participatory Arts? Socially Engaged Practice?

This unique course explores the wide variety of work within the Community Arts sector and gives an opportunity for you to find your place within it. It includes the development of your personal and people-oriented skills through the delivery of public workshops whilst building up essential professional and administrative experience.

The course covers organisational aspects such as research, self-employment, planning, evaluation, and working to a set brief plus some accessible art techniques and materials.

Who is this course for?

This is a higher-level course designed for those who already have creative skills. It is for people who want to be employed in the Community Arts sector and is suitable for established artists/makers or recent graduates. The course has a strong, visual arts focus but we accept students with allied creative backgrounds.

The course runs for 2 terms: Saturday 18th January 2020 – Saturday 11th July 2020. 10.30 – 16.30pm at The Mary Ward Centre, London.

Students will need good attendance and be able to commit to taking part in delivering public workshops in May and at a local community fair on the first Saturday of July.
