Evening session
Wednesday 6th June 2018
6 – 9

Our new taster sessions offer an introduction to some of the key printmaking techniques offered and practiced here at WYPW, and a glimpse into the processes involved in creating hand-made prints. You will be guided and encouraged by experienced artists who use printmaking in their own art practice, in a professionally equipped workshop setting.

Our first session in June will introduce you to the technique of linocut, a form of ‘relief’ or ‘block’ printing, where a lino block is cut into using specialist tools or ‘gouges’, and a print is taken from the surface. Learners will be guided through the process of cutting, inking and printing a lino block, using our large imperial platen press.
