Making It: Relief Printing with artist Katie English, IOU Theatre

Explore the liberating technique of relief printmaking using found objects and textures to create intriguing abstract images.

On Wednesday 6 November, artist Katie English leads this Making It session from 7pm to 9pm. She will show you how to use simple equipment you might find at home to produce your artwork. She will also show how to turn your chosen designs into paper night-light covers to brighten the darkening November evenings.

Katie English is an artists who works mainly with relief print, using lino, wood blocks and other textured materials to create colourful abstract works. As well as her own work, Katie also designs sleeves for Halifax based record label Rural Colours and runs family workshops at The Tetley in Leeds.

Making It is IOU's series of artist led workshops held once a month on the first Wednesday of the month from the IOU studio at Dean Clough Mills, Halifax.
