New Solo Exhibition - "From the land - Differently", Andy Sargent - contemporary painter

Description

"From the land - differently" is a new solo show by Andy Sargent, a contemporary painter from Warwickshire. This show is the culmination of two years of describing and working from the landscape in paint. Both traditional and representational ways of describing it are used, as well as more alternative and expressive methods and techniques. Andy uses his own take on Fauvism in some of the work, and others on first glance seem completely abstract, but are another kind of expression of reaction to an environment. Andy lives with a permanent spinal injury, which makes painting an enormous task, especially when painting on location. Huge amounts of effort are poured into these works, and often not only describe the landscape, but also the great struggle to create them.

SATURDAY 22nd DECEMBER 2018 AT NUNEATON MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY, WARWICKSHIRE
