Description
Supported by Arts Council England, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Kent County Council invite artists to submit ambitious and exciting proposals to create one or more of seven large-scale artworks in response to the launch of their major capital commissioning programme for The Amelia Scott Building.
Each artwork will become part of the fabric of the new and redeveloped buildings that comprise The Amelia Scott in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Funded using generous grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England, The Amelia Scott will house a unified service which brings together cultural, educational and information services in one conserved and modernised set of buildings.
The Amelia Scott invites proposals for the design and fabrication of a drinking fountain to be situated within the external ‘Curated Courtyard’ space in preparation for its reopening due in spring 2022. This artwork will be a celebration of the town’s heritage as a spa destination. As an artwork and functioning utility, it also aims to reduce single use plastics and be a natural communal gathering point.
There is a total project budget of £14,000 to cover fee, production, construction, delivery and installation.
Full information and details of how to apply can be found here
Expressions of interest for commissions must be registered via the Kent Business Portal by midday, Monday 18th January - before a proposal is submitted (by midday 25th January).
