Open call for LGBT themed scratch theatre pieces, Write Pride


We’re looking for 5 writers in the process of developing theatre pieces with LGBTQIA themes to take part in Write Pride, an LGBT writing festival taking place in Nottingham in July 2018. We’re looking for pieces that give insight to and celebrate the LGBTQIA community whilst provoking thought and conversation.

Pieces should be between 10 and 20 minutes

Location: Nottingham Playhouse

Date: Friday 27thJuly 2018.

Fee: £50

About Write Pride:

Write Pride will take place in Nottingham during Pride month (July) 2018. The project will include a series of master classes and events exploring and celebrating the work of LGBTQIA writers from 5 writing disciplines: poetry, prose, film, song writing and theatre.

To apply please send:

  • a synopsis of your theatre piece and
  • a short extract (1-2 A4 pages) of the script
  • anticipated tech requirements
  • scratch piece length
  • a personal statement including experience, accomplishments and outlining why you’d like to be involved (no more than 1 side of A4)
