Over 50s dance course in Whitechapel, Idea Store Learning


We are now starting a new over 50s dance course on Monday at Whitechapel Idea Store (Dance studio in the library building on the 1st floor) starting 16th September.

You must have had some experience in dance at least at beginners’ level. This course is aimed at people with various level of knowledge of dance, who wants to keep fit while consolidating, improving, developing and sharing their skills and creativity. All students are expected to be dedicated and attend regularly. The main emphasis will be placed on breath, skeletal alignment, joint articulation, ease of muscular tension and the use of gravity and momentum to facilitate movement. Classes will include responding to creative tasks and learning dance sequences. The classes aim to develop the participants’ own movement through acquiring dance skills, engaging with others and providing them with opportunities for exploration and experimentation.
