Skill Sharing Session #3 Running a Creative Business Karen Poley, Brighton Artists Network

Brighton Artists Network Skill Sharing Session #3
Running a Creative Business with Karen Poley
Wednesday 2nd of September

6.00 - 7.00 pm

This Skill Sharing Session led by BAN member Karen Poley.

Many of us who were lucky enough to receive income support during lockdown have spent the time focusing on our practice and projects we pushed to the back of the drawer in our busy pre-lockdown days. And many of us found ourselves thinking about setting up our own businesses. How do you bring a passion from idea to reality? What does the day to day running of a creative business look like?

Karen Poley is a Creative Producer and Artistic Director who has nearly 25 years experience of producing outdoor arts festivals, events, performances & community engagement projects of all scales. Her company, KP Projects CIC,  works with a range of partners and collaborators to create surprising, intriguing & inspiring outdoor arts performances, installations & community engagement projects for the widest audiences. Her work focuses around the environment, sustainability and healthy living, with projects exploring cycling, recycling, awareness of local environments, digital storytelling and new technologies in public spaces.

About our Skill Sharing Sessions:

Each session begins with a short introduction by the session lead, followed by a surgery style Q&A. Members are invited to bring questions and examples of work they have been doing in relation to the session theme for feedback from the session-lead and the rest of the group.

Members are asked to submit their questions and examples of their work on the Eventbrite sign up form, or you can email them to until a week before the event

Please note each session also provides a paid opportunity for our members, with all ticket sales going directly to the artist leading the session.
