Teacher Training in the Lecoq Pedagogy: Tragedy, Embodied Poetics

London: October 7 - 18, 2019


A two-week intensive on the theatrical, pedagogic and social-therapeutic potential of the tragic chorus:


1) an embodied-poetic approach to the chorus and tragic geometries of the hero, chorus and coryphaeus

2) a writing pedagogy for tragic texts

3) an exploration of the outer limits of the tragic chorus, theatres of assembly: flocks, flash mobs, happenings, guerrilla theatre

4) a weekend intensive workshop on the movement analysis of the tragic territory

5) Tragic Ecology: a one-week, co-facilitated exploration of the relationship between the tragic form and the theme of environmental catastrophe
