Textile Fiesta Exhibition, ROAR

Description

ROAR are pleased to announce the opening of Rotherham's first ever Textile Fiesta, a collection of exciting, original pieces by local artists including a set of three pieces inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo and a piece juxtaposing the usefulness and damaging nature of plastic. There will also be some original pieces from Love is Louder's Art Bomb, as well as community contributions such as the recent banner for International Women's Day.

This is your last chance to visit The Factory (full address below), a huge industrial space here in Rotherham, which has given contributors the scope to create and exhibit on a much larger scale than typical.

The exhibition is free to attend and will be open 10am-3pm, from the 21st- 27th of July (closed Sunday) and will have a special later opening 5-7pm on Tuesday 24th of July.

As part of the opening of this exhibition, Eunice Whitaker will be holding a Dammit Doll workshop, where participants will create their very own fabric doll used in times of stress. This workshop is £10, which includes materials as well as tuition, from 11am-1pm on the 21st. To find out more and book, please click here.
