Linda Barlow: Searching For The Invisible Woman
19 May – 15 July
For Linda Barlow “it became evident many middle-aged women felt they were becoming invisible as they aged. Their hair was going grey, their skin was becoming more sallow, they were bumped into in the street”. ‘Searching For The Invisible Woman’ includes textiles, shrines and even an animation – all informed by Linda’s considerations about the middle-aged woman in todays society. Linda conducted questionnaires and interviews with middle-aged women from a variety of backgrounds to inform her work. She hopes that this exhibition will celebrate the experience of women at a time of their lives that brings great change and the possibility of reinvention.
