Call for Entries: Curatorial Fellowship, Crafts Council

The Crafts Council and Artisa Foundation are looking for an individual or collective to become our first curatorial Fellow/s.  The Fellowship will run from January to June 2020.

The Fellow will research and present an ambitious public output that will challenge perceptions about craft and making using our Collections as the starting point.  It will be one of the first projects to be presented at the Crafts Council following its opening in Spring 2020.

Objects in the Crafts Council Collections date from 1972 to present day and cover all craft disciplines. They represent excellence in craft making, defined in its widest sense, from its interface with cutting-edge design to its crossover with fine art.

We want the Fellowship project to reveal the stories within our Collections that have not been addressed and acknowledged sufficiently in the past, and critically we want to present diversity of voice and practice.  We are looking for individuals with new perspectives, inquisitiveness and a resourceful, collaborative and inclusive mindset.

The output could be object-based exhibition or something more alternative, but it will challenge, delight and connect to the public and it will take place within the Crafts Council space including the forecourt in London in July 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity to build on the progressive and pioneering reputation of Crafts Council exhibitions over our 48-year history.

Deadline: 4 November 2019
