Arts 4 Dementia have teamed up with photographer Linda Blacker (@LindaBlacker) to create an exciting social media campaign: #ArtTheBestMedicine

Every three minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with dementia and 1 in 3 babies born today will develop the condition, which is now the UK’s leading cause of death. These are devastating statistics, but even with dementia, it’s still possible to live well through engagement with the arts. The arts have been shown to improve the quality of life for those living with dementia, and we wish to further this conversation through our campaign.

We are asking a selection of talented artists across the UK to unite in support of this campaign to raise awareness of the huge contribution that the arts can make to people living with dementia. You can produce or perform a piece of art, whether that’s a quick sketch, a detailed portrait, a photograph, a poem, a piece of music or a performance - As long as it is shareable on Instagram or Twitter, it really is up to you!

With keen interest already from influential artists across the UK, we believe that this campaign can really make an impact - But we need your help to reach as many people as possible! If you would like to be a part of this very special campaign, to showcase your work and help change the lives of those affected by dementia, please let us know so that we can provide you with all the final details.
