Inclusive weekly Music & Dance sessions (ages 12-19), Islington, Angel Shed

Description

Angel Shed Inclusive Theatre Company has recently turned 15 years old and we are celebrating by establishing two brand new weekly sessions for young people aged 12-19: Music Collective & Dance Company. Both groups will run from January 2020 on Monday evenings, 7.30-8.30pm, at City & Islington College, 444 Camden Rd, N7 0SP. To join, please visit our website for an application form or email us at info@angelshedtheatre.org.uk

No experience is necessary and as an inclusive organisation we welcome members regardless of ability or background – this includes those with emotional/behavioural needs, disabilities, SEN, young carers, and those who would not otherwise be able to attend such activities due to financial constraints - bursaries are available for both groups.

With devising and sharing ideas at the core of all sessions, we encourage members to support one another in workshops and rehearsals through to performances. Led by Angel Shed's highly experienced artistic team, the groups are delivered inclusively to ensure members are given the most relevant type of support. We provide 1:1 support for members where necessary to enable the young people to excel during workshops and performances. There will be opportunities each term to showcase work both at Angel Shed and other London venues.

Music Collective

As a member of Angel Shed Music Collective you will develop a range of music skills, alongside specialising in your choice of songwriting/composition, singing, or instrumental performance. Whatever your background, whether an accomplished drummer, a budding composer, or an inexperienced guitarist, you will work alongside other members of the collective to create music, lyrics and performances together.

Dance Company

As part of Angel Shed Dance Company you will develop skills in contemporary dance techniques as well as trying out different styles of choreography and performance. Through weekly rehearsals, we will work as an ensemble to create an original piece of dance theatre to be shown at the end of term.
