Call for artists for Jerwood Jazz Encounters Fellowship, Cheltenham Festivals


Applications are open for Jerwood Jazz Encounters Fellowship. The 18-month programme gives early-career jazz artists the opportunity to create and develop ground-breaking new ways to present jazz at Festivals and outdoor sites across England.

Up to four jazz artists will be commissioned to create an outdoor site-specific or digital work for presentation at festivals in 2021 to include Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Oxford Contemporary Music and Sage Gateshead. Each Fellowship will include R&D funding, in-depth mentoring, a two-day Creative Lab hosted by Birmingham City University and specialist support from digital partner The Space.

 Applications are open to UK-based jazz artists who have been working as a professional musician/composer/artist for between 3 and 10 years.
