The Living Room Artist Commission

Location: The Living Room, North Point Shopping Centre, Bransholme, Hull, HU7 4EE

Duration: Up to three months between April–June 2020, spending time in The Living Room as the artists feels necessary. 

Fee: £4500 (including planning, preparation, meetings etc., as well as delivery of activity/costs to create the artwork)

About The Living Room

The Living Room, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, is a chat shop based in North Point Shopping Centre in Bransholme, Hull.

The Artist

We’re looking for an artist that has experience of and a passion for working with people from all age groups and backgrounds - someone who can bring loads of people together through a creative project.

With support from the Living Room Steering Group, staff and users of The Living Room, this would be an opportunity to build lasting relationships with people in the Bransholme area. We want you to work closely with them to create a new piece of work in any medium that responds to The Living Room, Bransholme and the people living there.

How do I apply?

Before you submit a proposal, we’d like you to attend an open day at The Living Room to see the space, meet members of the Steering Group and have a bit of a chat. We’ll then invite artists to submit an application for review by a panel made up of Back to Ours staff and The Living Room Steering Group.

If your proposal is shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a shortlisting session with The Living Room Steering Group the following week.
