#artfairready - An Online Course for Artists Selling at Fairs, factor-m & The Curator's Salon

Gita Joshi, curator and host of  The Curator’s Salon podcast has joined forces with  Meike Brunkhorst who runs factor-m, a marketing consultancy helping artists run a sustainable and successful practice.

Together they devised an easy to follow program to get #artfairready - suitable for artists already signed up to a fair as well as those still undecided.

Art fairs, artist-led fairs and pop-ups are excellent opportunities for self-respresenting artists to increase visibility for their work, grow their audience and sell directly to the public. While organisers generate attention for the event on the whole, there is a lot artists can do to optimise their own presence, increase visits to their stand and engage prospective clients.

Over a period of four weeks the course will cover subjects such as:

  • What to expect from the different types of fair
  • How to plan ahead to avoid feeling overwhelmed
  • Best practice for promotion and mailings
  • Optimise your online presence to show new and existing clients what to expect
  • Learn to be confident about talking about yourself and your work
  • Tips to attract visitors to your stand and make sales

The tutorials and supporting templates, exercises, checklists and cheat sheets are exclusively shared in a private group on Facebook. Gita and Meike will be on standby to answer any comments and questions and participants are encouraged to exchange experiences in a closed environment.

A premium option including a 1-to-1 session with either tutor is also available. This is ideal for artists looking for more specific advice on pricing, proof reading artist statements or other loose ends.

Course dates: 16 March – 9 April

Standard fee: £79 / VIP fee: £139
