Are you a humanities academic or researcher looking to raise your media profile? Want to share your research with a wider public audience? This masterclass will help you workshop a pitch for your humanities research and will arm you with the tools needed to approach journalists and producers.
The masterclass will be broken down into two sessions. The first will be a workshop on how to write a pitch about your research so that it captures the media’s attention. Led by Professor Sarah Churchwell (School of Advanced Study, University of London), this practical workshop will be a hands-on opportunity to develop ideas about your own work and its media potential.
The second part of the afternoon will be a panel discussion with Q&A. Speakers Professor Sarah Churchwell and Professor Suzannah Lipscomb (University of Roehampton) will give advice and discuss their experiences of successfully tailoring research for the media. They will be joined by media experts Bridgid Nzekwu (PA Media) and Robyn Read (BBC Radio 3, Free Thinking) who will provide industry insight on what media professionals are looking for when sharing academic research.
Ticket price: £50 (£40 concessions for students/ unwaged)
