UKYA welcomes applications from artists across all art forms and across the UK, aged between 18-30 for a micro-residency in Lincoln from 29 May - 1st June 2020.

Curated by Claudio Zecchi and based on research by Frédéric Xavier Liver, this micro-residency will use the signs and symbols of basketball such as lines, nets and jerseys, to rethink the playground through a series of workshops and activities.

With Michael Jordan's jersey on our shoulders and a ball in hand, we will define and craft our own playground and share this new space in a collective performance. The playground will be a privileged space for physical training, but also a meeting place and a shared aesthetic experience.

The research residency will be an opportunity to connect with other artists and curators from across the UK and Europe. Taking place in the beautiful and historic city of Lincoln. Lincoln boasts a stunning medieval cathedral, and Cultural Quarter which includes Lincoln Drill Hall, The Collection and Usher Gallery; home to work by Turner and Lowry. Lincoln is also home to Mansions of the Future, an arts and cultural hub in Lincoln brought to life through a public programme of free talks, workshops, communal lunches and family activities, alongside national and international artistic commissions.

Deadline: 13 April, 5pm
