Prizewinning writer and editor invites you to join her Afrika Homecoming 12 week Creative Writing online workshops.

Afrika Homecoming (1) Poetry

Join me as we journey through 12 Afrikan countries, gaining an understanding of history, geography, cultural traditions, current affairs, languages. Then, using those as our base, we glide through different poetic techniques and devices to spin glistening poetic yarns. Over the 3 month period, you will compose an impressive collection of Afrikan-centred poems.

Afrika Homecoming (2) Short story

Join me as we journey through 12 Afrikan countries, gaining an understanding of history, geography, cultural traditions, current affairs, languages. Using this knowledge, we will stride through short story writing techniques, getting to grips with character back story, the creation of place, the poignant use of omission/silence, and understatement. Over the 3 month period, you will craft a vibrant anthology of Afrikan-centred short stories.

Cost and modality :

Afrika Homecoming (1) £24  per month  for 12 X 75 minute zoom sessions. Two participants will be selected for anonymised feedback per class. Individual feedback available at an additional cost.
