In this practical workshop, director, drag king and dramaturg Jo Tyabji will lead participants through an exploration of online rehearsal techniques, and how to approach live performance in the world of digital bodies, artists on conferencing tools, and TikTok.
During this workshop, Jo and the participants will break down the online rehearsal process, and engage in some performance-making. Together, participants will consider the audience online experience, and explore what else artists need to deliver work online, from software to other creatives.
About Jo Tyabji
Jo Tyabji is a director and performance maker. Recent shows include My Name Is My Own (Southbank Centre), Motherland (UK Tour), and What's Far Is Near (Simultaneous live broadcast show performed in The Purcell Room, London and The Palace Hamra Theatre, Beirut) and Cocktails Before The Revolution (Zoom). She is Associate at Milk Presents, co-AD of ivo theatre and drags as Joé de Vivre. Recent work as dramaturg includes It Snows (CPT), Presto! (UK Tour) and Populist (forthcoming).
