Using the Arts with Juvenile and Young Offenders

15th March 2013, 9.45 am- 4 pm, The Garage, Norwich

Special Rate Fee: £75 per person

Artswork is the largest provider of specialist youth arts training courses and publications in the UK and all training and publications are written and supported by experienced youth arts specialists, all of whom are also currently involved in direct project work with young people.

This popular one-day workshop explores the benefits of using creative activities with young offenders, both within the community and the secure estate.  Developed in partnership with SOFT TOUCH this course will examine practical issues, such as those encountered in secure units and personal issues, such as motivation and the development of the young people.  The course will use a mixture of training techniques to help educate and inform.

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course, and a wealth of practical resources, including a copy of the Artsplan published guidelines ‘Using the Arts with Juvenile and Young Offenders’ (RRP £7.50). There is a special rate fee of £75 for the course, which includes lunch and refreshments.

Unpaid opportunities

We recognise that there is great value in people having access to proper work experience, where it is offered and arranged properly and is a mutually beneficial arrangement, but that this should never be used as a way of attempting to circumvent national minimum wage regulations. We reserve the right to remove any posts without further notice to you which, in our reasonable judgment, do not comply with the terms and conditions.

Internships in the arts

Arts Council and Creative & Cultural Skills have published these guidelines to help clarify the legal obligations of arts organisations offering internships.

Please note that we will not accept postings on Arts Jobs for unpaid internships unless they are part of a recognised further or higher education course.
