Description
Developing and Working Effectively with your Board
Thursday 14 February
10.15am to 4.15pm, £65 per person, Central Brighton
A day which will provide information, advice and discussion on recruiting and working effectively with board members and directors within small to medium sized arts organisations.
The most common form of governance within publicly funded arts organisations is the company limited by guarantee with charitable status. Growing popular as a governance model is the Community Interest Company (CIC) and the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
The day will examine how trustees and directors within these three models can best be effective advocates for development of their organisations and how formal and informal structures involving staff and board members can help support this.
The day will consider how these ways of working ensure the sustained engagement of effective board members.
