Q: How do you eat an Elephant?
A: One bite at a time

Business planning can seem like a daunting task. Undertaking the complicated cataloguing and forecasting of your financial and performance objectives can seem overwhelming and, moreover, not a very productive use of your time.

The reality is that most small creative businesses do not need to produce a complex business plan; rather they need to develop a vision of their business - one which they can act on, one bite at a time!

This three-hour workshop will take you through a process of positioning your creative business, exploring a vision for its future and identifying actions that you can take towards reaching your goals. The session will be creative and practical and will offer a valuable opportunity to get in touch with your business and to take charge of its development.

Jenny Rutter of JCR Creative is a SFEDI accredited business advisor and a NESTA recommended consultant. Jenny has worked for the past thirteen years supporting creative businesses in the Northwest, from managing a contemporary touring theatre company to lecturing on creative entrepreneurship. Jennys passion is using creativity to drive real change, for the businesses she mentors and coaches, for the organisations she works with and for the places she believes in.

Unpaid opportunities

We recognise that there is great value in people having access to proper work experience, where it is offered and arranged properly and is a mutually beneficial arrangement, but that this should never be used as a way of attempting to circumvent national minimum wage regulations. We reserve the right to remove any posts without further notice to you which, in our reasonable judgment, do not comply with the terms and conditions.

Internships in the arts

Arts Council and Creative & Cultural Skills have published these guidelines to help clarify the legal obligations of arts organisations offering internships.
