at Manchester Craft & Design Centre

Join us for a varied introduction to paper cutting and folding with textile and paper artist Mhari McMullan. Mhari's work is currently being showcased in our exhibition FourFront: Contemporary Scottish Craft, which is on until the 9th of March.

During this full-day workshop, Mhari will take you through her creative process and youll learn about working with paper through a variety of techniques and technologies. Youll learn about folding, cutting and embroidery embellishment to design and make 3D paper sculptures

Mhari McMullans work is based around an evolving textile and paper collection. Her work explores pleating, embossing and folding techniques combining traditional origami patterns with modern methods. Mhari has a particular interest in blurring boundaries between disciplines and practices. Mhari graduated from Textile Design (specialising in print) at Central Saint Martins College in London in 2003. She works by applying the same ideas and techniques to a variety of materials.
