Description

Ros Parker performs THROUGH THE HOURGLASS

April 24th-May 16th 2013, London

Forest Hill, Herne Hill, Little Venice, Camden

Hopscotch, hedonism and hangovers - along with tales of telepathic cats!- feature in this witty and bold new one-woman play all about a girl growing up, written and performed by actress Ros Parker, touring four venues across London this spring.

Using a mixture of storytelling, stand-up, physical theatre and dance, creator and performer Ros Parker immerses the audience in a young woman’s winding tale as she grapples to make the “right” choices, inviting everyone to revisit those moments that can shape us forever.

Nunhood or narcotics? Promiscuity or purity?

Can she achieve spiritual enlightenment in a modern world? Or is seeing God on skateboard as the smiley tab kicks in the closest she will get?

The delicate flow of sand through an hourglass on the stage is a reminder of how transient our development is.

Through the Hourglass, which lasts for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, is recommended for anyone over 16 – especially those who may have veered to the sharper edges of life.

Rosalind Parker trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and past credits include herself inRaw Cake(Outburst Theatre), Gwendolen inThe Importance of Being Earnest(Spontaneous Productions) and D’Artagnan inThe Three Musketeers(Spontaneous Productions) along with many more lead roles.

She also runs children’s entertainment company, The Bedlam Bunch, and Outburst Theatre, taking drama workshops to schools.
