Director of Audience & Communications, Theatre Royal Plymouth

Description

12 MONTH SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

This twelve-month secondment is the ideal opportunity to expand and diversify your experience as a senior arts professional. TRP is looking to add professional capacity to its Senior Management Team during an exciting period of organisational development and change.

This rare opportunity will immerse you in one of the UK’s premier regional producing theatres, straddling both commercial and subsidised sectors.  We programme, collaborate and often launch productions with nationally recognised companies and leading commercial producers alongside our critically acclaimed new play producing.  In the last year alone, to name but a few, we’ve supported productions from the National Theatre, Frantic Assembly, Japan’s Ninagawa Company, the RSC, Cameron Mackintosh, Told By An Idiot, BRB, Ontroerond Goed, Matthew Bourne, WNO and Canada’s Robert Lepage.

You'll manage our key communication and customer facing departments underpinning the reputation and success of TRP.  These include Catering and Retail, Front of House and Premises, Marketing, Media and Communications, Sponsorship and Membership and Box Office.  You’ll have the opportunity to provide leadership to several experienced Heads of Department as they deliver against the charity’s four-year business plan.  This is your opportunity to make a difference at an important and exciting time for TRP.

We’re looking for a great manager for this senior leadership role.  We need a confident self-starter and a skilled people manager with drive, enthusiasm and energy who can comfortably fit into our existing high performing team.

We’d welcome conversations with candidates who can demonstrate an appropriate management track record.  If you have experience in one or more of the marketing, communications or audience service areas concerned that will be an advantage.

This fully remunerated secondment will commence in early 2019.  Help with accommodation will be considered.

If this opportunity is of interest to you or you would like an informal conversation to find out more we’d love to talk to you.  In the first instance please contact emma.tayler@theatreroyal.com
