Freelance Facilitator, Good Vibrations

Description

Good Vibrations is a small but, internationally-respected charity, working in the UK. We use communal music-making to support people with complex needs in challenging settings to develop transferable life and work skills. We are most well-known for our use of gamelan music in prisons. We have partnered with 99 prisons, YOIs, immigration removal centres, mental-health hospitals, and community partners since 2003 to support 8000 participants, and there is a significant body of independent academic research on our work. We are recruiting freelance facilitators to join our team. We will support extremely marginalised adults and young people to express themselves, perform, compose, and develop, team-working skills, self-awareness, communication skills and confidence. The aim is to equip them with strategies to manage challenging social and work situations and to empower them to see themselves and their futures more positively.

The selection process will be in two parts. The first part will interviews based on a shortlist of submitted applications. The interview date will be 21st June 2019 We will then arrange a date and place for a practical exercise where applicants can demonstrate their facilitation skills. Please note that although knowledge of Javanese gamelan music for this role is desirable, it is not essential. We will notify short-listed candidates with further details by 7th June 2019
