Caraboo Projects are inviting proposals from artists working in any discipline for our Scratch Lab initiative. The aim of the Scratch Lab is to provide artists with a focused environment to explore ideas, take risks and make connections.
Successful applicants will be invited to develop workresulting in an installation, interactive project, or performance in our main exhibition space alongside other selected artists/groups. The exhibition space will be available during the week leading up to a Friday evening event for artists to develop work and/or prepare the space.
In your proposal, we need an outline of what you intend to do within the timeframe we offer the space for, what work/equipment will be brought into the space and who is involved. We are open to all media and encourage applicants to give consideration to engaging public response within their proposals.
Please bear in mind that the Scratch Lab is not currently funded and is run by volunteers. Whilst we cannot cover artist fees, travel expenses or production costs Caraboo Projects can help with sourcing accommodation, installation, promotion and some AV equipment so try to let us know what help from us you will need.
Deadline for proposals: Thursday 31st January 2019
The proposed dates for the Scratch Lab are as follows:
Week 1: Mon 11 – Sat 16 March (with a live event/opening night Fri 15 March)
Week 2: Mon 6 – Sat 11 May (with a live event/opening night Fri 10 May)
