Technical Theatre Apprentice - Linbury, ROH

Do you love being involved in live events and performances? Are you practical and good at problem solving? Enjoy being part of a team and up for a challenge? Ready to learn new skills? Then a backstage career could be for you...

The ROH stages over 500 performances a year and our backstage teams are some of the best theatre technicians in the world. We want to give everyone the opportunity to get involved in this creative, exciting and growing industry and we think apprenticeships are great way to get started. An apprenticeship gives you the practical skills and knowledge that will underpin your professional development, as well as a recognised industry qualification.

This year we are offering a Technical Theatre Apprenticeship based in our newly refurbished and soon to be re-opened Linbury Theatre on a Fixed-term contract for 2 years (September 2018 - August 2020), Full-time (48 hours per week) based at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. This will include study with the National College Creative Industries for a Level 3 Apprenticeship Creative Venue Technician.

Will I be paid?

Yes! £19,543 per year, which is £375.84 per week before tax, rising 2.5% after successfully completing the first year. College fees will also be paid by the Royal Opera House.

Am I eligible?

  • You must be 18 years old or over on 3rd September 2018.
  • You must not have completed a university degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere.
  • You must have work authorisation for the UK.

We actively encourage BAME and disabled applicants and value the positive impact that difference has on our teams.
