The British Museum of Food (BMOF) is delighted to announce its inaugural exhibition with the summer launch of SCOOP: The Wonderful World of Ice Cream. This celebratory show will explore the past, present and future of ice cream in a total sensory immersion – one where you can taste the savour of centuries.
Half-way through the exhibition, guests will enter a re-creation of Agnes B. Marshall’s Cookery School where they will get to make & taste ice cream.
They will step back in time and meet Ida Cooke, a fictional character who introduces herself as Agnes' star pupil. Ida will share some of Agnes' recipes and encourage guests to try tasty morsels of various iced concoctions.
This is a fun opportunity for people who are experienced in immersive theatre.
The role will require a performer with strong improvisation skills, and the confidence to aid the public in ice cream making.
The role will play a vital part within the exhibition, and will be practical and hands-on.
Optimistic, friendly & energetic performers with experience of working with children & young people and/or workshop facilitation will be most suitable for this role.
DBS checks will be required before offers of employment are made. Performers must be over 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.
