The Linbury Theatre will soon reopen as a world class venue for mid-scale opera and dance, alongside which, the Clore Studio is being refurbished, and our extended public foyer spaces will soon be open to welcome visitors throughout the day, enlivened by a broad programme of both public and private events – from bandstand performances to tea dances, gala dinners and conferences.
In advance of the re-opening we are seeking to appoint to the new role of Clore and Events Technical Manager. The postholder will take operational responsibility for the technical values, processes, systems and delivery of the ROH’s event work, in the Clore Studio, Paul Hamlyn Hall, Crush Room, Dorfman Conservatory and all other internal and external locations and to deliver these, safely and effectively, within agreed resources and budgets.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience of managing a complex operation and of leading a team.
Strong communication skills to ensure effective, diplomatic interactions across producers and administrators, technical staff, and performers.
- A proven track record in technical theatre or event management.
- A thorough understanding of current equipment and systems across all the main areas of technical theatre (staging, lighting, sound and video.)
- Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice.
