Design Assistant to Charlotte Colbert:

Charlotte Colbert is a Franco/British artist and filmmaker who lives and works in London. She is best known for her surreal and dark imagery. Colbert’s photographic work is strongly anchored within the language of film and storytelling. Her pictures are mostly conceived as a series, a sequence developed in script format before being shot. Her work has strong philosophical undertones, and often plays on questions of time, space and identity. She has recently been developing large-scale screen sculptures, a series which form a contemporary and new approach to portraiture. 

The design assistant will work directly alongside Charlotte. Pay commensurate on experience. Position available immediately on a freelance basis with possibility of evolving to a contracted role.

Job responsibilites include:

• Developing ideas / creating artworks using Photoshop and Illustrator (3D Software a bonus)
• Video editing, grading, exporting files, masking;
• Manage all website and email content;
• Liaise and negotiate with manufacturers, providing technical specifications, quality control and production schedules; 

Experience/Skills Required:

• Advanced expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere and Aftereffects;
• Demonstrable experience of managing a range of art making processes
• Proven ability to identify most appropriate supplier, negotiate prices, produce and refine detailed technical specifications and resolve any issues arising;
• Experience in Microsoft Office;
• Extensive knowledge of photography and video editing;
• Ability to remain cool, calm and collected to meet tight and often conflicting deadlines in a busy studio;
• Knowledge of additional languages, specifically Mandarin, preferred;
• At least 1 year’s experience working in graphic arts and/or fine art industry;
• Familarity with electrical wiring, coding, or computer troubleshooting is ideal
