The Arts Service is a small and specialised team within Islington Council’s Employment, Skills and Culture division. We support residents to benefit from the extraordinary cultural offer on their doorstep, with a focus on the transformative role arts and culture can play in developing a fairer Islington. Whether it involves performance, music, dance or other cultural forms, our aim is to broaden access and participation in arts and cultural opportunities.
A major part of our work is coordinating a cultural enrichment programme with local schools and partner organisations. This aims to increase the equality of access and participation in arts and culture for Islington children and young people. We are recruiting a Cultural Enrichment Support Officer to support this exciting and ambitious programme.
As Cultural Enrichment Support Officer, you will be one of the first points of contact from partners, proactively responding to enquiries, maintaining systems to help manage the programme, and supporting ongoing monitoring. You will also help to coordinate a number of events and conferences, planning logistics and requirements to ensure smooth operational running.
We are looking for a professional and well organised individual, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a pressured and deadline driven environment. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive, professional working relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
