Classical Sheffield seeks a Festival Producer to rise to the exciting challenge of drawing together and delivering the third Classical Sheffield Weekend Festival.
The Festival, taking place over three days in March 2019, will feature the vast majority of Sheffield’s performing groups in a city-centre musical celebration that seeks to engage both existing and new audiences. The task of coordinating and communicating with the artists, venues, and other partners is of critical importance. The impact on, and legacy of, a successful Festival for culture in the region will be considerable.
This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in developing and delivering this pivotal event in Yorkshire’s cultural life. The Producer will therefore need to have experience of working in similar roles, the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently across the board, and the energy and creativity to deliver this innovative event to the highest standard. They will need to work on their own initiative to deliver the Festival in consultation with the Classical Sheffield Trustees, a group of people who represent the city’s vibrant classical-music scene.
Fee: £13,000 inclusive of travel and office, based on a rate of £250 per day for approximately 52 days’ work. This is a freelance role; a schedule of payments will be agreed between CS and the Producer. A precise schedule of working will be agreed on an ongoing basis according to the calendar and requirements of the project.
To apply, please send a completed Application Form; a letter (maximum 2 A4 sides) explaining how you fulfil the Person Specification and meet the requirements of the role, giving relevant examples; an up-to-date CV; and an Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, to the Classical Sheffield Administrator Steve Terry: a.classicalsheffield [ @ ] gmail.com.
Deadline for applications: 12 noon on Wednesday 1st August. Interviews will take place in Sheffield on Monday 13th August, and the role will begin in August / early September. If you would like more information about the role or have any questions, please contact Steve as above.
