Senior Education Officer: Community Programmes (Maternity Cover), The Wallace Collection

THE COLLECTION

The Wallace Collection owns perhaps the finest collection of French eighteenth-century paintings, porcelain and furniture outside France.  The Collection also includes highly important Old Master paintings, a unique collection of French nineteenth-century paintings, Medieval and Renaissance bronzes, ceramics and works of art and a superb collection of European and Oriental arms and armour.

EDUCATION AT THE WALLACE COLLECTION 

The Education Department was founded in October 1998.  It consists of the Head of Education, three Education Officers, a public programmes co-ordinator, and one Administrator. We also rely on approximately 25 freelance educators and 35 volunteer guide lecturers as well as an Education Intern to deliver our programmes.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND ROLE

The Education Officer for Community Programmes role is to effectively lead the delivery of the Community programme including development, implementation and evaluation. You will maintain our current activities for community groups, identify new audiences and develop projects to support on- and off-site learning for groups and individuals currently under-represented among the Wallace Collection's visitors. Programmes will be devised around both the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.
