The Royal Shakespeare Company is looking for an experienced Head of Millinery and Jewellery to join us on a permanent basis at our Costume Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Reporting directly to the Head of Costume, you will supervise and manage the workload of a small but busy millinery and jewellery team. You will work closely with renowned designers to realise their designs for all RSC productions.

The ideal candidate will have experience of running a millinery team and comprehensive and advanced knowledge of millinery and jewellery related disciplines including:

  •  Millinery, blocking and 3D construction
  • Hand and machine sewing skills;
  • Associated metal working skills;
  • Costume Fitting and procedures;
  • Fabric types and associated maintenance;
  • Alteration and refurbishment techniques;

We are looking for someone with a strong appreciation of costume with experience of managing theatre costume requirements in an artistic environment. You must be confident, able to lead and work effectively within a team and be responsive to artistic needs. You'll fit right in if you're a positive, friendly, approachable person who brings a problem solving, measured approach whilst working under pressure. 

You will be working an average of 44 hours per week, occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
